Growing up in Providence, Rhode Island, Steven Macek pursued his dream of going to law school, became an attorney, and eventually established his own law firm. He always felt his soul’s purpose was to help people, so he dedicated his legal career to advocating for two of the most vulnerable groups—juveniles and the elderly.
In 2010, Spirit set him on a path to mediumship when his husband, Elix, and I attended an event of a well-known Massachusetts medium. The venue was full, with over 100 people hoping to be chosen for a reading. Right when the medium was about to begin, she came over and told him he was a medium but didn't know it. And then she walked away.
Although intrigued, I didn’t act on this information right away. My interest in spirit communication piqued years later when Elix registered him for training and encouraged him to simply embrace the learning process and the experience. He loved it immediately! Eager to hone his skills and learn as much as possible, He worked with some of the world’s most well-respected teachers to develop an understanding of his abilities and how to use them. In 2013, He earned a certification as a medium from the Imagine Spirit Intuitive Arts Institute in Arizona.
His first “reading” occurred when a repairman, Ted, came over to fix his garage door. He ran upstairs to get his wallet to pay him and suddenly heard a voice telling him, “I’m his mom, tell him I love him.” He started getting a message that started with an “A,” and ran back downstairs to tell Ted who was stunned; his mother had died 40 years earlier and her name was Angie. That singular experience is what motivated Steven to start doing professional readings.
Steven has had the privilege of appearing on many television and radio programs, including “Great Day Live Tampa” where he read host and former NFL player Michael Clayton. Both the Boston Globe and the prestigious industry publication Massachusetts Lawyer Weekly have profiled him. He did an event at the Ruth Eckerd Hall Experience in Clearwater, Florida. He hosts his own weekly radio show—Through the Static on WARA 1320AM—where he take calls and does readings every Wednesday. And through private readings and group events, he has connected thousands of people seeking answers with their loved ones who have passed, helping them see that death is not the end and love never dies.
