This week, we are thrilled to welcome Hall of Fame Wrestler and Coach Jim Miller to the ABR podcast. Jim Miller is a legendary figure in the world of wrestling, known for his remarkable achievements as both an athlete and a coach.

As a competitor, Jim Miller made his mark as a two-time Division II National Champion while representing the University of Northern Iowa. His impressive career also includes being a Division I All-American, where he finished fourth in the 134-pound weight class at the prestigious NCAA Championships in 1975. His dedication and skill on the mat set a high standard in the wrestling community.

Transitioning from athlete to coach, Jim Miller continued to excel. During his tenure at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, he was honored multiple times as the Division III Coach of the Year in 1993, 1996, 1999, 2003, and 2009. His coaching acumen is reflected in his outstanding career record of 413 wins, 37 losses, and 2 ties. Under his leadership, the Wartburg wrestling program captured 10 NCAA Division III team championships and 21 consecutive Iowa Conference titles. Furthermore, Coach Miller’s teams achieved remarkable success in the National Wrestling Coaches Association National Duals, winning seven championships.

In addition to his team successes, Coach Miller developed numerous individual wrestlers. He has coached 37 national champions and produced 147 All-Americans, along with 72 NWCA Academic All-Americans. His commitment to excellence has left a lasting legacy at Wartburg College and in the broader wrestling community.Currently, Jim Miller serves as the Director of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum in Waterloo, Iowa. His role at the museum allows him to continue promoting the sport of wrestling and honoring its rich history.
