As you may know, 1 in 2 people born after 1965 in the United Kingdom will develop cancer in their lifetime. This means the majority of the population will either be directly or indirectly affected by it. My father has been living with two brain tumours since I was 3 years old, which is about 19 years, and recently my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. During my degree at Central Saint Martins, in February of 2019, I started 100 Stories (originally The Cancer Chapter). I wanted to tackle the ‘big-c’ head on, so as a designer I decided to narrate other people’s stories to make the subject less scary. I want to explore ways in which storytelling can reach my audience and make a difference. Initially it was through the creation of the 100 Stories Book and a short animated film and now, to reach a wider audience, I have created this podcast: The 100+ Podcast. So welcome to season one!
