The high school phenom from Abilene, Texas had his pick of any school in the country and chose IU after his mother orchestrated a surprise visit to Coach Knight. Once there he embraced a career of highs… say a 39-point virtuoso performance to thump Duke in the pre-season NIT… and one of lows, including injury, early exits from the NCAA tourney, and the abrupt departure of key teammates. Through it all his passion and commitment won the day, leading first to a long career as a professional player and now as the Director of Basketball Administration for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
