show moreWe're going to give you seven simple and free ways to promote your food business on this podcast, which we will go ahead and upload onto our YouTube channel as well. It takes a little bit of time, and it costs you absolutely nothing. Damian Roberti, founder and CEO of marketing food online, explains how to market food online. You can get a basic, simple website for anywhere from $50 to $75. Next, reach out to local community centers, schools, and churches.
You can post a business card, bring him a brochure posted on the cork board, or post it in the church hallway. And that is a great way to promote your food business from home. Next up are local business organizations, which usually don't charge you any money to put them up. The Chamber of Commerce is a great place to network and get exposure for your business. And you've got a product and they come across it because of your business card.
You can drum up tens of thousands of dollars' worth of business with just one other business in the community because you went to the Chamber of Commerce. Local Facebook groups are fantastic at quickly spreading a simple message or a tagline about who you are and what you make, or even a link to your products that you make locally at your home. Facebook groups are a great place to get exposure just to get the ball rolling, and to get people locally aware of what you're doing. Under cottage food laws, you can actually prepare food at home and bring it to events and sell it and make money. Next, post your business cards, flyers, and brochures at local businesses.
A lot of times, people will remember things more if they touch something, if they have something in their hands or if they fold it up, put it in their wallet. You can post your business card up, a flyer up, anything that you can put up where people can recognize that you have a business locally that's a food product business. Check to see if the store owner or store manager will let you put up all of those types of products. Do it for free.
