show moreFrom here on out, the days will begin to become shorter and the darkness will creep more and more in, lengthening our nights for the 2nd half of the year.We celebrate the light while we have it, whilst knowing that we must begin preparing for the coming of winter.
Generally falling between the 20th and 23rd of June with some variation depending on the natural rotation and orbit of the earth (as the longest day and shortest night doesn’t always fall on the same day every year). It was a celebration that often lasted several days!Can you imagine a 4 day long celebration full of fun, food, friends and family? I really vote for bringing these things back into style.
Celebrating Litha has some traditions but it’s important to note that these festivities are about getting in tune and connecting with the world around you and your place in it.
Take the mentioned aspects as loose guidelines rather than concrete rules.Truly connecting means exploring your own natural surroundings and finding your own meaning and magick in them. Not only are we all beautifully unique, but we’re all going to have different variations on our environment.
