show moreI met the Grim Reaper when I was 6 years old
Backstory time. My grandfather was a horrible man and he was dying of cancer.. Basically my grandfather abused 4 of his little girls and ended up doing serious time in prison because of it. He got out early because of his cancer. My sweet grandma, despite all that he put her through still took him in. The rest of the family were very supportive of him during his final days, because he was family and they are very kind hearted people.
My grandfather died shortly after in hospice care and spoke his last words to me. Because I was 6 I had not yet learned of my grandfathers sins. I really looked up to him at this time, and all my cousins still tell me I was his favorite.
After he passed all the families went home to their houses. (Mind you none of us lived in the same cities)
I will never forget that night.
We had all just gotten home and we were very sad. I went into my room and shut the door. As I was getting ready for bed I heard a faint knock on my window. I peeked through the blinds and saw the grim reaper holding my grandfathers spirit by the back of the collar. I couldn’t actually see my grandfather in physical form, but I just knew that’s how he was being held. The reaper looked exactly how you would imagine. His dark hood covered his face, leaving nothing but the glare of his dark reflective eyes peering out into my room. I also saw his reaper hook which looped over my grandfathers spirit.
Mind you, I only looked out my window for maybe 3 seconds before screaming. The moment I screamed all lights in my house flickered. I left my room and my sister and parents met me in the hall. My moms phone immediately started blowing up with her siblings asking if the lights in our house had just flickered too! Apparently all 6 of my aunts & uncles had the lights flicker in their houses the moment I screamed. None of them had an physical experience like mine though..
I told my dad that grandpa and a bad man were outside my window. He frantically searched outside but saw no trace of anyone standing outside my window. I think about this experience a lot. Especially after having a similar encounter after trying to communicate with my grandpa via ouija board. (That was before I found out what kind of person he really was) But that’s a whole different story.
I believe I was visited for a few different reasons;
I’ve always been intune with other worldly beings
My grandpas last words were to me
I was his favorite because I was a 6 year old girl (apparently that is the age he would molest his girls)
I believe the reaper visited me to teach my grandfather a lesson. To show him one last reason of why he’s going where he needs to go. I do wonder why he wanted me to see them though.. obviously that was a pretty traumatic experience to leave a 6 year old with.
If anyone else has seen the grim reaper please share! All my friends look at me like I’m crazy when I share this with them!!

So I saw the grim reaper after a surgery of mine where i believe I almost died. He was standing over my hospital bed and i felt like i was looking at a predator about to pounce. A feeling of primal fear.
I always had a suspicion that he was taking me to Hell so this does not really make me feel better about that. I don’t think i’m evil or anything, but it felt like i was going to Hell or a bad place and ever since this experience I have tried to be a better person and appreciate what I have.

I saw the angel of death when I was very young. Just after my father had died a day or two prior. I've never told anyone because they all think I'm crazy. I know what I saw.

I remember it clearly. A dark, hooded figure who's face I couldn't see. I saw him in the same room where my father had died. I stopped to blink my eyes and when I opened them, he was gone. I felt cold, and drained. Like someone slipped an ice cube down my shirt.

I've never seen something similar to the Grim Reaper with my own eyes, but when i was little i dreamt about him.
Sadly i forgot most of the details, i don't even remember what was my age, but i remember this black and white setting, like it was an old film, where i would see from above, like i was just a point of view, and wouldn't participate to the dream in first person.
I remember seeing a person, i think it was an old woman, approaching her house's door. She was calmly opening the door with the keys, when she suddenly watched behind and saw the hooded figure with the scythe. She then tried to open the door faster while the Grim Reaper was getting closer, but failed. He just touched her with his finger (i remember that he had a skeletal hand too) and she slowly fell on the ground. I completely forgot what happened next, but when i woke up during the night, i was sweating a lot, and i had a lot of difficulty going back to sleep.

honestly, from what i have read here, it sounds like you were next on your grandfather's bucket-list .
- Seems the reaper appeared to you and wanted you to know this somehow. You did not know of your grandfather's evil ways at age 6, but i think the reaper was somehow trying to get the message to you of '' This is not who you think he is. Do not love him, he never loved you, you were next to be his victim. ''
- I do not think that night you were not the only person the reaper and grandfather visited. I think he was hauled around to Every single person he did harm too and those he was planning to harm . The reaper's way of saying to him...''' and for this you will forever suffer terribly in eternal darkness. ''

Agh your response gave me chills! Yes I completely agree that he was visiting everyone to be taught a lesson. I believe I only saw him because I was holding his hand while he passed, and maybe some of his negative energy transferred to me and they were there collecting it.
Also it’s very plausible he allowed me to see him to diminish that lighthearted vision I had of my grandfather. Almost as if he was saying “you don’t understand now, but you will. This is a blessing”
So many theories!

Yes, this is exactly what i meant . The reaper i'm thinking has many duties relating to death. To the living, to those about to die and to those that need to open their eyes and made to be aware their evil ways have been noticed by higher powers/change your ways before the Darkness takes your soul ...
- and maybe there are different reapers with a different set of instructions and missions, how they appear to each individual based on whatever criteria. And their boss is God.
- i think 6 year old you was initially frightened by what you saw outside your window, but deep down inside....a little voice convinced you that you were never ever going to be harmed by that reaper himself. He was just a messenger full-filling his duties as directed by god's masterplan. :) Eventually, at some point, this will be revealed to you and you will understand.

I've only ever seen the gates of hell. I can best describe it as the yawning mouth of a grotesque creature. I had a strong sensation of falling to someplace that was so terrifying it really traumatized me. I was 20 when that happened (back in 2001) and I had to call my parents crying. What is so terrifying is the feeling of damnation. It's not anything you can experience on Earth. Our comfort and inability to experience what real damnation is like creates a false sense of security about our eternal soul. Don't, even if damnation isn't eternal it's not something you want to experience. I had to make myself right with the Christian teachings after that. The Church and its instruments are man made but I believe I was being reached out to because what you do In this
