Richard talks about the band’s origins, how they drew on folk, blues, jazz and even literary visionaries to create their sound and lyrical themes. We also get into the band’s rise to prominence followed by their demise. As the book promo states: “Jefferson Airplane burned fierce and bright before their decline with the death of the psychedelic dream in Haight-Ashbury’s dreamily LSD-drenched hippie heartland. More than any other, the band and their recorded output were synonymous with the birth and death of the hippie era.”
