Jerusalem Remnant versus the heathen King. This reminds us of Elijah and the prophets of Baal. Yet in that situation the Lord God told the Prophet he had 7,000 who never bowed the knee to Baal. God has a people. Even today as Israel takes up their living in their promised land, all the land they did have still is not theirs. In that we find a lot of commonalities to Judah of old and to the new covenant believers in Yeshua. There is no doubt that the same relationship of a God to his people exists today through the new covenant. In Christ Jesus, Yeshua HaMassiach; we are in a covenant bond through faith and the blood of Christ. The work of the cross, the atonement, and the Spirit of God who dwells in us; makes it possible. Make no mistake, the Jerusalem Remnant existed then and does so today.

Jerusalem Remnant brings us to point of who is really in charge here. A pompous King Sennacherib with a large army or the #LordGod whose #Prophet #Isaiah is on the scene to declare "thus saith the Lord". We have covered the threats, the talk, and the back and forth with Rabshakeh. But the deliverance nears even as the #Assyrians ready to break the defenses of #Jerusalem. The whole event is about relationship of a people to their God, these are the #Jerusalem #Remnant. No amount of #heathen can separate them from their #God. They can be separated if they decided to not follow the Lord. There are many situations going on here, even a #righteous #King #Hezekiah who lay on what he believes is his death bed. In the end the promises are fulfilled, and we see the groundwork laid for the next chapter.
