The Five Satins were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003 and the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1998. Freeman was subsequently inducted into the Blues, Doo Wop and United In Group Harmony Hall of Fame and is a Lifetime Member of the Iowa Music Association Hall of Fame.
