Congratulation to David Eby on becoming the next BCNDP Leader. David Eby is a hard-working individual who cares very much for our community.

Residents of British Columbia are questioning the process of David Eby finding his way into the leadership position. Anjali Appadurai was disqualified leaving Mr Eby uncontested for the position. Appadurai brought a number of new members willing to vote for her into the leadership seat. This high number of new BCNDP members raise questions by Elizabeth Cull. Those questions lead to Elizabeth investigating where the member could have come from. She determined that the new member came from an inappropriate third-party source. An Artist group and website call Dogwood BC. Dogwood BC has gathered funds for a number of activist movements across British Columbia including a campaign to stop the Trans Mountain Pipeline.

I think the people of British Columbia might be able to see an agenda. The Trans Mountain Pipeline is worth Billion of Dollars to the Oil and Gas sector wants to move tarsand oil from Alberta to the waterfront of Vancouver where oil tankers can be filled so the crude oil can be shipped to Asia for processing and refining. The pipeline is questionable and could be very harmful to wildlife and the community in its path.

If Anjali Appadurai is part of Dogwood that could harm the progress of the Trans Mountain Pipeline and the Alberta Tar Sand mining companies. Appadurai came with agenda that the BCNDP caucus does not agree with and this opposing candidate must not be allowed to run. All elected officials run for office with an agenda in mind they are to make our community better. During the 2017 campaign when John Horgan became Premier of British Columbia hew would have told he was running because he saw problem with what the BCLiberal Party was doing and he wanted to put an end to it. Does this mean that Appadurai doesn’t have the right to question what her party is doing a then so challenge them with new ideas.

What about Democracy? Eby was challenge to a campaign and should he have been allowed to his ideas for the BCNDP. Democracy without opposing ideas become autocratic. His challenger has ideas and they should have been heard. Without a campaign has she been silenced and should member of the party allow this to happen. In a democracy all voices should be heard. We all get to vote and decide which ideas suit us best. It is the point of democracy. David Eby maybe the best person for the job but without the process of the campaign and ballot we might never know.

To all the new member of the BCNPD do you feel silence and maybe cutoff because the person that you wanted to see run the Province has now been effectively cast aside. The candidate you felt hopeful for has been silence and now you don’t get to cast a vote nor do you have a say in the future of the British Columbia. Many of the voice could have been activist hoping for some to make a real change. The hope has been crash. Does the BCNDP understand that they could just a bunch of young voter that they do not count and they should stay silent.
