If you're planning to hit Lake Texoma today, here’s what you need to know:

First off, the weather is looking pretty good with clear skies and a mild temperature, expected to be around 78°F, similar to yesterday. Sunrise is at about 7:45 AM, and sunset will be around 6:30 PM.

The water level at Lake Texoma is normal and stable, with a temperature of 78°F and clear conditions. This is ideal for a variety of fish species.

For striped bass, fishing has been excellent, especially using live shad near channels and ledges in 30-35 feet of water. You can also try topwater lures early in the morning along shallow points and in the backs of coves. Switch to live bait or slabs as the day progresses to finish out your limit.

Catfish are active as well, with blue, channel, and flathead catfish biting well on cut bait, live shad, and prepared baits. Look for them in 40-50 feet of water for the bigger ones and shallower along the flats for the eaters.

Crappie are fair to good, biting on jigs and minnows around brush piles, docks, and standing timber. Try fishing in 12-15 feet of water for the best results.

Largemouth and smallmouth bass are fair, with fish biting on Texas-rigged plastic worms and diving crankbaits in 16-28 feet of water. Some fish are moving into shallower water, so keep an eye out for those.

For hot spots, consider the channels and main lake points where striped bass and catfish are often found. The areas around docks and standing timber are great for crappie. If you're after largemouth bass, the rocky coves and main lake boulders are worth a try.

Remember to check the fishing regulations, as they can differ between the Oklahoma and Texas sides of the lake. Good luck out there
