show moreTheir trademark sound is still there, but through four previous albums the band has honed their sound and redefined it in a way that only now finally captures the true essence of the band musically.
Each track on the album is intensely personal to frontman Chris Roetter, separately dealing with eleven issues that plague the frontman every day.
Chris sat down with HEAVY to discuss the album and more, starting with his take on No Eternity In Gold musically.
“People that have listened to the new singles will kind of have a bit of perception on how the record is supposed to be, but for us, it's a collective of our four record catalogue, and exploring the elements within the music that we really enjoyed. I think what has shone on this record is the more heavy, aggressive and more riff-oriented side of the band. I think our last record was very melodic in the sense of how sonically everything sounded. This record for us - being our fifth one - we kind of wanted it to be something that encapsulated the entirety of our career. We've tried things in the past that have been... I don't know if they didn't go over well or if it was just within our crew - there might be things that we don't like playing a lot - so we decided to take our mindset and utilize that line of thinking moving forward. It was kind of about dead weight and the things that we didn't really like about the old records and intensifying the things that we did like from the past."
