show moreOne of the nation’s leading tick experts, Thomas Mather, Ph.D (a.k.a. the TickGuy) is professor of public health entomology at the University of Rhode Island. He is director of URI’s TickEncounter Resource Center. His research interests include the ecology and control of ticks. His outreach through the nationally prominent website TickEncounter includes a variety of platforms for tick prevention education focused on increasing people’s tick literacy and preventing tick-associated diseases.
