Hey there, folks! Time for your coastal weather report for East Central Florida. Let's dive in and see what Mother Nature has in store for us. Today, we have a...
show moreToday, we have a cold front sweeping through the area, bringing with it northerly winds that will pick up speed. This means not-so-great boating conditions with seas building through Saturday. But hey, the silver lining is that the conditions are set to improve by late Sunday into next week.
If you're hitting the waters, do keep in mind the Gulf Stream hazards with winds increasing to 15 to 20 knots and seas building to 6 to 8 feet. And remember, isolated showers might make an appearance along the passing front.
For Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line, small craft should exercise caution with north winds at 15 to 20 miles per hour today, leading to occasionally choppy waters.
As we head into the weekend, expect northeast winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour, with seas occasionally reaching 8 feet. So, a moderate chop on those intracoastal waters.
And for those further out, like Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line 20-60 nm, a Small Craft Advisory is in effect through Sunday morning. Brace yourself for strong north winds at around 20 miles per hour and seas occasionally peaking at 10 feet.
Remember, safety first out there on the waters. And for more detailed info, check out our link in the show notes.
