Good morning, folks! Let's dive into what Mother Nature has in store for the coastal waters of Florida. I'm here with your Coastal Waters Forecast for Florida from the National...
show moreFor the area from Jupiter Inlet to Ocean Reef out to 60 nautical miles, and Gulf coastal waters from East Cape Sable to Chokoloskee, including Biscayne Bay and Lake Okeechobee, here's the scoop.
Currently, we've got a gentle to moderate southeasterly breeze blowing in, bringing in some scattered showers and thunderstorms that could amp up the winds and waves a bit throughout the early week. But hey, no Gulf Stream hazards to worry about at the moment. Always good news!
Now, for today along the coast from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach, we're looking at some southeast winds at about 5 to 10 knots, with seas around 2 to 3 feet. Keep an eye out for possible showers and thunderstorms as well.
Tonight, not much change, with seas holding steady around 2 to 3 feet. Monday brings more of the same with a chance of showers in the morning and likely showers with a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. The rest of the week sees some southeast winds, 2 to 4-foot seas, and showers and thunderstorms likely.
If you're near the waters from Chokoloskee to Bonita Beach, expect similar conditions with light chop in the bay and inland waters, along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the week.
For Lake Okeechobee, you're looking at smooth waters today, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. The days ahead bring some easterly winds, smooth lake waters, and likely showers and thunderstorms in the mix.
And for those navigating Biscayne Bay, a mix of southeast and east winds, light chop, and a chance of showers and thunderstorms pretty much throughout the forecast period.
