On this week’s episode, we have Raymund Patrick Ramos, Technology Officer at Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, the largest toll road operator in the Philippines and one of the largest in Asia.

With ever increasing congestion on road networks and demand for Mobility as a Service (MaaS) offerings, MPTC is one of the forward thinking tollroad operators beginning their data journey to unlock value from data and create improved services for their customers.

In the Philippines, the area of Metro Manila faces significant levels of congestion. In central Metro Manila, moving a 10km distance can take you 1-2 hours, even more at worst, making travel in the area stressful and time-consuming.

In this podcast, we deep dive into the main congestion challenges facing Metro Manila, and what MPTC as a tollroad operator is doing to overcome these challenges and improve the overall traveller experience. We also touch on the work we’ve been doing together to assess the opportunities for engineering value out of data produced by road assets and road users in MPTC’s journey to become a data-driven company.
