It: Luca camminava lentamente lungo il canale principale della Laguna Veneziana.
En: Luca was walking slowly along the main canal of the Venetian Lagoon.

It: Era Ferragosto e l'aria era piena di voci, risate e odore di cibo.
En: It was Ferragosto and the air was filled with voices, laughter, and the smell of food.

It: Ma Luca non era lì per festeggiare.
En: But Luca was not there to celebrate.

It: Un noto artigiano del posto era scomparso.
En: A well-known local craftsman had disappeared.

It: Si chiamava Marco e tutti lo conoscevano per le sue meravigliose creazioni in vetro.
En: His name was Marco and everyone knew him for his wonderful glass creations.

It: Chiara, la migliore amica di Marco, correva verso Luca.
