Before CBS launched a reboot of The Odd Couple (based on Neil Simon's hit play) in 2015, ABC decided to revive their old hit series as The New Odd Couple in the fall of 1982. With African-American actors Ron Glass and Demond Wilson as Felix and Oscar, respectively, this new version was not successful and was canceled after just 13 episodes. (ABC launched a Saturday morning cartoon version of the show, The Oddball Couple, in 1975, the year the original series ended its run)
