Noviembre 2: Torre y muralla de refugio y protección.

Salmos 48 RVA2015:
¡Grande es el SEÑOR y digno de suprema alabanza, en la ciudad de nuestro Dios, en el monte de su santuario! ¡Qué hermosa altura! El gozo de toda la tierra es el monte Sion por el lado norte, la ciudad del Gran Rey. Dios es conocido por refugio en sus palacios. Porque, he aquí, los reyes se han aliado; han avanzado juntos. Pero viéndola así, se quedaron atónitos; se turbaron y se dieron prisa a huir. Allí se apoderó de ellos el estremecimiento; tuvieron dolor como de mujer que da a luz. Con el viento del oriente rompes las naves de Tarsis. Como lo oímos, así lo hemos visto en la ciudad del SEÑOR de los Ejércitos, la ciudad de nuestro Dios: Dios la afirmará para siempre. Selah
Oh Dios, hemos pensado en tu misericordia en medio de tu templo. Conforme a tu nombre, oh Dios, así es tu alabanza hasta los confines de la tierra. Tu diestra está llena de justicia. Se alegrará el monte Sion; las hijas de Judá se regocijarán a causa de tus juicios.
Vayan alrededor de Sion y rodéenla; cuenten sus torres; observen detenidamente su muro exterior; examinen sus palacios, para que lo cuenten a la generación venidera. Porque Dios es nuestro Dios eternamente y para siempre; por siempre nos guiará.


Este es un salmo especial porque es una dedicación que describe la grandeza de Dios y de la Ciudad de Jerusalén, que es la capital de Israel. Los salmistas hacen una descripción; primeramente del Dios Todopoderoso y después hacen una descripción detallada de la admiración que sienten por las murallas que rodean esta esplendorosa ciudad.
En el tiempo de la guerra, cuando un ejército invade a otra nación, la máxima ciudad para conquistar es la capital. Me asombra leer cómo aquí describen el momento cuando los reyes intentaban invadirla, pero la veían tan esplendorosa y fortalecida que prefirieron huir. La razón era su posición estratégica, estaba en la altura, sobre un monte y esto era de gran desventaja para los soldados que iban en carros de a caballo. Mientras los enemigos iban subiendo, los soldados del pueblo de Israel iban bajando; así que la ventaja era grande para los judíos.
Además, las torres y murallas estaban fortalecidas, rodeadas de una estructura de rocas que hacían impenetrable la muralla sirviendo de refugio a los habitantes alrededor que entraban por las puertas de la ciudad buscando protección cuando los enemigos amenazaban. Puedo imaginarme a los salmistas escribir estas palabras inspiradas por las veces que el pueblo fue salvo gracias a la protección de las torres y murallas.
¡Estas murallas y torres representan la misericordia y la protección de Dios hacia su pueblo! De la misma forma, cuando nosotros estamos rodeados de los ataques del enemigo o por problemas de la vida, ten la certeza que podemos refugiarnos en la presencia del Señor; el mejor torreón que puedes encontrar es en Dios.
Proverbios 18:10 dice: "Torre fortificada es el nombre del SEÑOR; el justo correrá a ella y estará a salvo."

Enséñale a tu familia cuál es el mejor refugio. Cuando ellos se encuentren pasando por algún dilema en alguna etapa de sus vidas, ellos van a encontrar el refugio perfecto en tiempos de tempestades, ataques del enemigo, cuando vengan las inundaciones o son amenazados por algún incendio. ¡Simplemente tiene que arrodillarse e invocar el nombre del Señor Jesús!
No importa la clase o tipo de problema, ellos encontrarán el refugio perfecto para enfrentar estas diferentes dificultades y adversidades. Tus hijos adolescentes aprenderán a clamar a Dios cuando tengan problemas en la escuela o con algunos amigos. Aprenderán a refugiarse en el nombre del Señor cuando se burlen de ellos por ser creyentes.
Los matrimonios encontrarán en el Señor la mejor consolación y esa sensación de paz y de seguridad cuando entren a la presencia de Dios y corran hacia Él. El Señor los curará, los protegerá y les dará la salida para superar cualquier conflicto en sus hogares.

Considera:
Cuando te encuentras rodeado de problemas, ¿a dónde corres primero?

November 2: Tower and wall of refuge and protection.

Psalm 48:
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in His holy mountain. Beautiful in elevation,
the joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion on the sides of the north, the city of the great King. God is in her palaces;
He is known as her refuge. For behold, the kings assembled, they passed by together. They saw it, and so they marveled; they were troubled, they hastened away. Fear took hold of them there, and pain, as of a woman in birth pangs, as when You break the ships of Tarshish with an east wind. As we have heard, so we have seen in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it forever. Selah
We have thought, O God, on Your lovingkindness, in the midst of Your temple. According to Your name, O God,
so is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness. Let Mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of Your judgments.
Walk about Zion, and go all around her. Count her towers; mark well her bulwarks; consider her palaces; that you may tell it to the generation following. For this is God, our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even to death.


This is a special psalm because it is a dedication that describes the greatness of God and of the City of Jerusalem, which is the capital of Israel. The psalmists make a description; first of the Almighty God and then they make a detailed description of the admiration they feel for the walls that surround this splendid city.
In wartime, when an army invades another nation, the maximum city to conquer is the capital. It amazes me to read how here they describe the moment when the kings tried to invade it, but they saw it so splendid and strengthened that they preferred to flee. The reason was its strategic position, it was in the height, on a hill and this was of great disadvantage for the soldiers who went in horse carts. While the enemies were going up, the soldiers of the people of Israel were going down; so the advantage was great for the Jews.
In addition, the towers and walls were fortified, surrounded by a rock structure that made the wall impenetrable, serving as a refuge for the surrounding inhabitants who entered through the city gates seeking protection when the enemies threatened. I can imagine the psalmists writing these words inspired by the times the people were saved thanks to the protection of the towers and walls.
These walls and towers represent God's mercy and protection for His people! In the same way, when we are surrounded by the attacks of the enemy or by problems of life, have the certainty that we can take refuge in the presence of the Lord; the best large fortified tower you can find is in God.
Proverbs 18:10 says: “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”

Teach your family which is the best shelter. When they find themselves going through a dilemma at some stage in their lives, they will find the perfect refuge in times of storms, attacks from the enemy, when floods come or are threatened by fire. You simply have to kneel down and call on the name of the Lord Jesus!
No matter the kind or type of problem, they will find the perfect refuge to face these different difficulties and adversities. Your teens will learn to cry out to God when they have trouble at school or with some friends. They will learn to take refuge in the name of the Lord when they mock them for being believers.
Couples will find in the Lord the best consolation and that feeling of peace and security when they enter the presence of God and run to Him. The Lord will heal them, protect them and give them the way out to overcome any conflict in their homes.

Consider this:
When you find yourself surrounded by problems, where do you run first?
