Octubre 22: ¡No te impacientes, más bien deléitate en el Señor!

Salmos 37:1‭-‬19 RVA2015:
No te impacientes a causa de los malhechores ni tengas envidia de los que hacen iniquidad. Porque, como la hierba, pronto se secan, y se marchitan como el pasto verde. Confía en el SEÑOR y haz el bien. Habita en la tierra y apaciéntate de la fidelidad. Deléitate en el SEÑOR y él te concederá los anhelos de tu corazón. Encomienda al SEÑOR tu camino; confía en él, y él hará. Él exhibirá tu justicia como la luz, y tu derecho como el mediodía. Calla delante del SEÑOR y espera en él. No te alteres con motivo de los que prosperan en su camino, por el hombre que hace maldades. Deja la ira y abandona el enojo; de ninguna manera te apasiones por hacer lo malo. Porque los malhechores serán destruidos, pero los que esperan en el SEÑOR heredarán la tierra. Dentro de poco no quedará el impío. Contemplarás su lugar, y no aparecerá. Pero los mansos heredarán la tierra y se deleitarán por la abundancia de paz. El impío maquina contra el justo y cruje sus dientes contra él. El Señor se reirá de él porque ve que viene su día. Los impíos desenvainan la espada y tensan el arco para derribar al pobre y al necesitado, para matar a los de recto proceder. Pero la espada de ellos entrará en su propio corazón, y su arco será roto. Mejor es lo poco del justo que las riquezas de muchos impíos. Porque los brazos de los impíos serán quebrados; pero es el SEÑOR quien sostiene al justo. El SEÑOR conoce los días de los íntegros, y la heredad de ellos será para siempre. No serán avergonzados en el tiempo malo; en los días de hambre serán saciados.


Hace muchos años cuando leí por primera vez el salmo 37, marcó mi corazón porque el salmista aquí habla sobre el dilema que todos nosotros los creyentes tenemos que confrontar y es cuando vemos que los malos al parecer son prosperados, que ellos viven sus vidas muy lejos de la voluntad de Dios pero no sufren ninguna consecuencia por sus actos.
En este salmo miramos a un salmista más maduro y con más sabiduría. A diferencia de los primeros salmos donde hizo declaraciones desesperadas al Señor en oración; ahora lo vemos como un maestro, enseñándonos que él había comprendido algo: que no nos desesperemos ni enfoquemos nuestras fuerzas en las vidas de los que hacen maldad. Porque ellos viven sus vidas a su manera pero que más adelante sufrirán las consecuencias de sus malos actos; pero si nos enfocamos en fortalecer nuestras propias vidas espirituales, obtendremos la recompensa en Dios.

Este salmo es muy parecido al salmo 10, el cual estudiamos el mes pasado. Te invito a que busques en los archivos de nuestro devocional para que leas y escuches la reflexión de este salmo para que tengas una perspectiva más profunda sobre este tema.

El salmista afirma nuestra fe enseñándonos a que más bien nos enfoquemos en nuestro andar con el Señor, a que confiemos más en el Señor y vivamos vidas rectas.
Muchas veces, por estar pendientes de los demás, se llena el corazón de amargura, de ira y enojo. En cambio, el salmista nos invita a deleitarnos en el Señor; a que pongamos la mirada en Dios y abramos nuestras manos esperando Sus bendiciones, que son muchas; a que establezcamos una comunicación continua y directa con Dios para que Él conceda las peticiones de nuestro corazón; a que permitamos que el proceso del plan de Dios continúe sin obstáculos y avancemos hacia el lugar donde Dios quiere que lleguemos. Deja Que el Señor trabaje en tu vida primeramente, corrigiendo las cosas que debemos cambiar y creciendo en las áreas que debemos progresar. Al final, vamos a ser hogares bien establecidos en la roca sin temor alguno. El Señor nos va a guardar de las injusticias, nos va a bendecir en abundancia, y en momentos de escasez va a suplir nuestras necesidades.

Cambiemos de actitud y, en vez de estar mirando las vidas de otros, enfoquémonos en nuestro crecimiento espiritual y el de nuestras familias. Recuerda que cada uno va a rendir cuentas a Dios.

Considera:
¿Siento desesperación porque veo a la gente mala que no quieren cambiar y viven vidas desordenadas?
¿Me desanimo cuando no veo que Dios haga justicia pronto, castigando al pecador?
¿Me estoy deleitando y creciendo en el camino de Dios todos los días?

October 22: Don't be impatient, rather delight yourself in the Lord!

Psalms 37:1-19:
Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret—it only causes harm.
For evildoers shall be cut off; but those who wait on the Lord, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; indeed, you will look carefully for his place, but it shall be no more. But the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. The wicked plots against the just,
and gnashes at him with his teeth. The Lord laughs at him, for He sees that his day is coming. The wicked have drawn the sword and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to slay those who are of upright conduct. Their sword shall enter their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
A little that a righteous man has is better than the riches of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous. The Lord knows the days of the upright, and their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.


Many years ago when I first read Psalm 37, it touched my heart because the psalmist here talks about the dilemma that all of us believers have to confront and that is when we see that the wicked seem to prosper, that they live their lives far from God's will but they don't suffer any consequences for their actions.
In this psalm we look at a more mature and wiser psalmist. Unlike the first psalms where he made desperate declarations to the Lord in prayer; now we see him as a teacher, teaching us that he had understood something: that we don't despair or focus our strength on the lives of those who do evil. Because they live their lives in their own way but later they will suffer the consequences of their bad acts; but if we focus on strengthening our own spiritual lives, we will get the reward in God.

This psalm is very similar to Psalm 10, which we studied last month. I invite you to search in the archives of our devotional so that you read and listen to the reflection of this psalm so that you have a deeper perspective on this topic.

The psalmist affirms our faith by teaching us to rather focus on our walk with the Lord, to trust the Lord more and to live righteous lives.
Many times, by being aware of others, the heart is filled with bitterness and anger. Instead, the psalmist invites us to delight in the Lord; to put our gaze on God and open our hands waiting for His blessings, which are many; to establish a continuous and direct communication with God so that He grants the requests of our hearts; to allow the process of God's plan to continue without obstacles and move toward where God wants us to go. Let the Lord work in your life first, correcting the things that we must change and growing in the areas that we must progress. In the end, we are going to be well-established homes on the rock without fear. The Lord will keep us from injustice, He will bless us abundantly, and in times of scarcity He will supply our needs.

Let's change our attitude, and instead of looking at the lives of others, let's focus on our spiritual growth and that of our families. Remember that each one will be accountable to God.

Consider this:
Am I desperate because I see bad people who don't want to change and live messy lives?
Am I discouraged when I don't see God doing justice soon, punishing the sinner?
Am I delighting and growing in God's way every day?
