Octubre 25: Del pozo a la Roca.

Salmos 40:1‭-‬17 RVA2015:
Pacientemente esperé al SEÑOR, y él se inclinó a mí y oyó mi clamor. Me hizo subir del pozo de la desesperación, del lodo cenagoso. Puso mis pies sobre una roca y afirmó mis pasos. Puso en mi boca un cántico nuevo, una alabanza a nuestro Dios. Muchos verán esto y temerán, y confiarán en el SEÑOR.
Bienaventurado el hombre que pone su confianza en el SEÑOR y no vuelve la mirada a los soberbios ni a los que se enredan con la falsedad. Oh SEÑOR, Dios mío, tú has multiplicado tus maravillas y tus pensamientos para con nosotros. No hay nadie comparable a ti. Si intentara referirme y hablar de ellos, serían demasiados como para ser contados. El sacrificio y la ofrenda no te agradan; tú has abierto mis oídos. Holocaustos y sacrificios por el pecado no has pedido. Entonces dije: “He aquí, yo vengo. En el rollo de pergamino está escrito acerca de mí: ‘El hacer tu voluntad, oh Dios mío, me ha agradado; y tu ley está en medio de mi corazón’”.
He anunciado justicia en la gran congregación; he aquí, no he detenido mis labios. Oh SEÑOR, tú lo sabes. No he encubierto tu justicia dentro de mi corazón; he proclamado tu fidelidad y tu salvación. No he ocultado tu misericordia ni tu verdad en la gran congregación. Tú, oh SEÑOR, no detengas de mí tu compasión; que tu misericordia y tu verdad me guarden siempre. Porque me han rodeado males incontables; me han alcanzado mis iniquidades, y no puedo levantar la vista. Son más numerosos que los cabellos de mi cabeza, y mi corazón me ha fallado. ¡Ten a bien, oh SEÑOR, librarme! ¡Oh SEÑOR, apresúrate a socorrerme! Sean avergonzados y humillados a una los que buscan mi vida para cortarla. Vuelvan atrás y sean confundidos los que desean mi mal. Sean desolados a causa de su vergüenza los que dicen: “¡Ajá, ajá!”.
Gócense y alégrense en ti todos los que te buscan. Digan siempre los que aman tu salvación: “¡El SEÑOR sea engrandecido!”. Aunque yo sea pobre y necesitado el SEÑOR pensará en mí. Tú eres mi ayuda y mi libertador; ¡Oh Dios mío, no te tardes!


Este es uno de los salmos que llevo en mi corazón, especialmente por los primeros versos. Te animo a que aprendas varios de ellos porque te van a servir como una guía cuando te encuentres en algún momento perdido o atascado en alguna situación donde no ves la salida.
En este salmo el rey David nos muestra los pasos de aquel que clamó al Señor desde lo más profundo de un pozo lleno de barro, dónde no podía recibir el socorro de parte de Dios.
Primero, él esperó pacientemente a Dios. Oraba y clamaba con todo su corazón sabiendo con certeza que el Señor vendría por él a rescatarlo. Él describe ese lugar como un pozo lleno de lodo con agua estancada que produce podredumbre. No importa lo que estemos pasando, el Señor es bondadoso y fiel para extender Su mano misericordiosa y rescatarnos.
Después David dice que Dios lo sacó de allí y lo puso sobre la roca, sobre un lugar firme y seguro. La Biblia nos dice que Jesucristo es la Roca de la salvación donde podemos estar seguros y para que nuestros pies no vuelvan a resbalar y caer en el mismo lugar tenebroso.
Después de afirmar sus pasos para que no vuelva a caer así y después de sentirse en un lugar firme el salmista dice que Dios no terminó su obra allí. No, no solamente Dios quiere rescatarnos, limpiarnos y afirmarnos; también quiere usarnos con un propósito en particular conforme a Sus planes divinos.
Dice el salmista que puso en su boca un cántico nuevo de alabanza al Señor. El Señor nos rescata para que podamos ser instrumentos de Su alabanza. No solamente para que le cantemos en la iglesia canciones bonitas, sino que lo alabemos en todo tiempo y en todo lugar; ya sea en la casa, en el trabajo y en la escuela dónde estudias. La alabanza no consiste solamente en cantar, sino en ser un testimonio viviente de la obra de Dios donde quiera que vamos. Cuando tú cuentes a tus amigos y compañeros de trabajo lo que Dios ha hecho contigo y con tu familia, vas a producir en ellos expresiones de alabanza al Dios que tú has conocido y estás alabando. Tú eres un ejemplo de lo que Dios puede hacer, también toda persona que clama al Señor pacientemente. Tú eres un modelo de los milagros de Dios y lo que puede hacer con una familia entera cuando uno comienza a caminar en la senda de la vida eterna.
¡Conviértete en un objeto de alabanza para que muchos confíen en Dios y el Señor sea glorificado!

Considera:
¿Adoras al Señor en todo momento y en todo lugar?
¿Te da vergüenza decir que eres cristiano o todos saben que tú eres un hijo o hija de Dios?
¿Has compartido a tus amigos el milagro de lo que Dios hizo en ti?

October 25: From the well to the Rock.

Psalms 40:1-17:
I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth— Praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord.
Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust, and does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done; and Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; my ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require. Then I said, “Behold, I come; in the scroll of the book it is written of me. I delight to do Your will, O my God,
And Your law is within my heart.”
I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness in the great assembly; indeed, I do not restrain my lips, O Lord, You Yourself know. I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great assembly. Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O Lord; let Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me. For innumerable evils have surrounded me; my iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of my head; therefore my heart fails me. Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me; O Lord, make haste to help me! Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion who seek to destroy my life; let them be driven backward and brought to dishonor who wish me evil. Let them be confounded because of their shame, who say to me, “Aha, aha!”
Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; let such as love Your salvation say continually, “The Lord be magnified!” But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinks upon me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God.


This is one of the psalms that I carry in my heart, especially for the first few verses. I encourage you to learn several of them because they will serve as a guide when you find yourself at some point lost or stuck in a situation where you don't see the way out.
In this psalm king David shows us the steps of the one who cried out to the Lord from the depths of a well full of mud, where he could not receive help from God.
First, he patiently waited for God. He prayed and cried out with all his heart, knowing with certainty that the Lord would come for him to rescue him. He describes that place as a muddy pit with stagnant water that produces rot. No matter what we are going through, the Lord is kind and faithful to extend His merciful hand and rescue us.
Then David says that God took him out of there and put him on the rock, in a firm and safe place. The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ is the Rock of salvation where we can be safe and so that our feet don't slip and fall into the same dark place again.
After affirming his steps so that he does not fall like this again and after feeling himself in a firm place, the psalmist says that God did not finish his work there. No, not only does God want to rescue us, cleanse us, and affirm us; He also wants to use us for a particular purpose according to His divine plans.
The psalmist says that he put in his mouth a new song of praise to the Lord. The Lord rescues us so that we can be instruments of His praise. Not only so that we may sing beautiful songs to Him in church, but that we praise Him at all times and in all places; whether at home, at work and at the school where you study. Praise is not just about singing, but about being a living testimony of God's work wherever we go. When you tell your friends and co-workers what God has done with you and your family, you will produce in them expressions of praise to the God that you have known and are praising. You are an example of what God can do, also every person who cries out to the Lord patiently. You are a model of God's miracles and what He can do with an entire family when one begins to walk on the path of eternal life.
Become an object of praise so that many will trust God and the Lord may be glorified!

Consider this:
Do you worship the Lord at all times and in all places?
Are you ashamed to say that you are a Christian or does everyone know that you are a son or daughter of God?
Have you shared with your friends the miracle of what God did in you?
