show moreThe women’s soccer tournament at the Olympics has reached its final two matches, as Sweden and Canada will battle for the gold medal, while the U.S. will face Australia for the bronze.
Sweden has been the tournament’s most impressive team having won all five of their matches so far, while Canada is coming off a huge 1-0 win over the U.S. in the semi-final, which was the first time they have beaten their rivals to the south in 20 years.
Both Sweden and Canada are looking to win their first gold medal in women’s soccer.
In the bronze medal game, the U.S. is looking to salvage something from what has been a disappointing tournament by defeating Australia, who are looking to medal for the first time in women’s soccer.
The two teams have already met once at this tournament, with their match in the group phase ending in a 0-0 draw.
