The Serum Institute of India and the Poonawalla family are donating 50 million dollars, respectively, to the University of Oxford. These funds will go towards the building of the new Vaccines Research Building at the Old Road Campus. The donation will also go towards establishing the Oxford University's Pandemic Sciences Centre. It will also be used to conduct research on vaccines.The Poonawalla family owns the Serum Institute of India, which is part of Serum Life Sciences. This donation marks the biggest ever prize for vaccines analysis at Oxford University. The Poonawalla Vaccines Analysis Building is expected to house over 300 scientists. The building will also house the Jenner Institute and the malaria vaccine group.
