They wanted to use their influences and mix it together and create songs for the band. Slower mid-tempo type of metal music. Metal was always meant to be experimental. Its metal that has a groove to it. It has an old school real music type of feel. That was the idea when creating the music. You can’t try and be metal. Its either you are, or you aren’t.
