After watching the movie "Resurrection," in which Ellen Burstyn brilliantly played the role of a hands-on healer, Debra became fascinated with the subject. So she began "healing" friends and family by willing warmth and energy into her fingers. Sometimes it even worked! But that method, along with strong doctor-prescribed pain killers, failed when she needed it the most—to ease her daughter’s misery during a terrible illness in 2009.
