show moreAround 5:09 PM on February 8, 2023, Officer Anthony Beck with the Kenosha Police Department arrived at a residence on a report of a woman who was acting belligerent. Upon arrival, Officer Beck made contact with the caller, and she reported that her niece had been drinking and felt that she was a threat to her as well as her mother. After speaking with the caller outside for a few minutes, the 2 officers entered the residence and made contact with Tayler, who had been reported by the caller as acting belligerent.
Tayler was rude towards the officers and Officer Beck told her that she should not be drinking while she was on probation. However, that alone would not be enough to arrest her because her Probation Officer in the neighboring state of Illinois did not ask their department to take her in. Tayler continued to make excuses for her behavior, but she eventually agreed that she would be leaving the residence and going to her mother’s place instead.
Officer Beck momentarily left the room and called his supervisor to ask for further clarification about what he should do. Since Tayler happened to reside inside the home and the caller reported that Tayler had threatened physical harm, it was decided that this was a domestic case and Tayler would be arrested. Around 5:30 PM, Tayler was informed that she would be placed under arrest. Since she had an 8-year-old son who was at the residence, it was eventually decided that Tayler’s father would take custody of his grandson instead of them calling Child Protective Services (CPS).
After Tayler was placed in the patrol car, she continued to yell obscenities towards the officer as he was transporting her to the Kenosha County Jail. Records indicate that Tayler was booked into the Kenosha County Jail later that evening at 6:09 PM. The following day, Tayler was released at 2:59 PM. This was not her first brush with the law, because she had previously been arrested in 2022 for a DUI in Illinois.
