Asthma affects more than 25 million people in the United States, with approximately 10 percent of those cases categorized as severe. While there is no cure, it can be managed...
show moreHowever, asthma threatened to put Richard Jefferson on the sidelines. The veteran professional basketball player & 2016 World Champion struggled with severe asthma for more than 25 years. Like so many asthma patients, Richard tried a variety of medications and treatments without the relief he wanted that would allow him to compete at the level he wanted.
So, Richard went on the offensive… opting to take control of his asthma with Bronchial Thermoplasty (BT)— a minimally invasive procedure for people 18 years and older with severe asthma. Today, he describes it as the breath of fresh air that enabled him to extend his basketball career and enjoy even more activities off the court.
Now Richard is partnering with[1] Boston Scientific to help educate people living with severe asthma who aren’t getting the relief they need with medication alone. He is available LIVE from Cleveland to discuss:
· His asthma diagnosis & the obstacles it presented; professionally and personally
· His decision to try Bronchial Thermoplasty and how it has helped him
· How treatment has enabled him to continue with the game he has played—and loved—his whole life
