In this episode of Nephrology Nursing Perspectives, host Lillian Pryor interviews Dr. Deborah Stamps,  a leading expert in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in health care. With over 30 years of experience and a distinguished record in workforce development, nursing education, and leadership, Dr. Stamps brings invaluable insights into DEI initiatives. Dr. Stamps discusses her passion for health equity, eliminating health care disparities, and increasing diversity within the nursing workforce. She also shares her experiences and strategies for advancing DEI in nephrology nursing and beyond. Deborah Stamps, EdD, MBA, MS, RN, GNP, NE-BC, CDE®, FAAN, has over 30 years of progressive health care leadership experience. She is a recognized authority on workforce development, diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, nursing education, and leadership. In 2021, Dr. Stamps was named among 50 of the nation’s most influential diversity leaders, receiving the prestigious Leadership Excellence Award at the 2021 National Diversity and Leadership Conference. As a speaker and trainer, she uses her expertise and influence to deliver engaging training to teams and individuals. She is nationally certified as a Nurse Executive by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and achieved the credentials of Certified Diversity Executive (CDE®) through the Institute for Diversity System, at the Society for Diversity. Dr. Stamps is passionate about health equity, eliminating health care disparities, and increasing the diversity of the nursing workforce. She is an active participant in many local, regional, and national initiatives and committees working to impact poverty, health equity, racism, and workforce development in the field of nursing.   

Lillian Pryor, DNP, RN, CNN, is Dialysis Program Manager at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Henry. A member of the American Nephrology Nurses Association since 1990, Dr. Pryor has served in roles that include president-elect, ANNA director, ANNA Awards and Scholarships Committee chairperson, ANNA representative to the Kidney Health Initiative Patient Preference Task Force, and an author and peer reviewer for the Nephrology Nursing Journal. Dr. Pryor served as the 2020-2021 President of the American Nephrology Nurses Association. In addition, she is an active member of ANNA’s Dogwood Chapter in Georgia and has served the chapter as both its president and health policy representative.
