show moreIn June 1940 a 28 year old struggling entertainer with a tenth grade education, two young children, no job, and no clear path in life found himself at a 5am daily Mass just looking for a little hope, and a little help.
He said a prayer and asked the little-known St. Jude for help, promising to build a shrine for the saint if he could only find his way in life.
That man was Danny Thomas, who not long after that moment was one of the most famous entertainers in all of America.
This is the story of Danny, and how he discerned his path and came to rally a community around the idea of building a shrine to St. Jude in the form of a hospital for children, St. Jude Children's Hospital, which would save countless thousands of life around the world.
