In this special episode of The Department of Useful Art, we look at art in the context of science outreach and a performance called Colours of Quantum Frontiers. Follow the artists on their journey through labs, concepts and matter waves on a quest to create a new kind of art and science collaboration.

Featuring interviews with composer Michael Berentsen, choreographer Niels Weijer, scientists Dennis Rätzel and Gregor Pieplow, and researchers at the institutes of the QuantumFrontiers Cluster of Excellence: Dorothee Tell, Fiona Kirk, and Benjamin Knispel. The music used in this episode was created in the performance by Michael Berentsen as composer/conductor and Niels Weijer and Mike O’Connor as performers. Mastering and editing by Hannah Alongi. This episode was made possible with support from QuantumFrontiers.
