Science & Conspiracy go in search of the Menehune over coffee

Brew some coffee, pull up a chair and open your mind. This week Science vs. Conspiracy traveled to Hawaii in search of the Menehune over coffee.

Long before the first Polynesia settlers crossed the ocean from Hiva Oa to the Hawaiian islands between 1000-1200 CE, there lived a group of small yet resourceful people that roamed among the lush Hawaiian forests. Locals called them the Menehune, the Tahitian word menehune meaning commoner, or small in social standing, not in physical size. Legend has it that they were about 2 to 3 feet tall with some only reaching 6 inches in height. Small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. They lived hidden away and rarely seen by humans. Roaming in the forests and valleys mostly at night.
