Salmos 7:1‭-‬17 RVA2015:
Oh SEÑOR, Dios mío, en ti me he refugiado. Sálvame de todos los que me persiguen y líbrame. No sea que arrebaten mi alma como el león que despedaza, sin que haya quien libre. Oh SEÑOR, Dios mío, si yo he hecho esto, si hay en mis manos iniquidad, si recompensé mal al que estaba en paz conmigo, si despojé sin razón a mi adversario, entonces persiga el enemigo a mi alma, y que la alcance; pise en tierra mi vida, y mi honor eche por tierra. Selah. ¡Levántate, oh SEÑOR, con tu furor! Álzate contra la ira de mis angustiadores, y despierta, Dios mío, el juicio que has ordenado. Entonces te rodeará la congregación de los pueblos, y hacia ella vuélvete en lo alto. El SEÑOR juzgará a los pueblos; júzgame, oh SEÑOR, de acuerdo con mi justicia y mi integridad. Acábese ya la maldad de los impíos, y establece al justo; pues el Dios justo pone a prueba los corazones y las conciencias. Mi escudo está en Dios, quien salva a los de recto corazón. Dios es el que juzga al justo; es un Dios que emite sentencia cada día. Si el impío no se arrepiente afilará su espada; ha dispuesto su arco y lo ha preparado. También ha alistado para sí armas de muerte y ha hecho incendiarias sus flechas. He aquí que gesta maldad, concibe afanes y da a luz mentira. Cava un pozo y lo ahonda; pero en la fosa que hace caerá. Su afán se volverá contra su propia cabeza; y la violencia que ha practicado recaerá sobre su coronilla. Pero yo alabaré al SEÑOR por su justicia, y cantaré al nombre del SEÑOR el Altísimo.

Este salmo de David es muy similar a los primeros salmos que hemos estudiado. Ahí está el clamor de una persona pasando por pruebas, persecuciones y peligros. Tal vez esta forma de clamar al Señor proviene de un hombre que vivió en persecución por muchos años, escondiéndose en cuevas y viendo en el desierto y constantemente atemorizado porque, el rey de su pueblo, quien también era su suegro, lo perseguía para matarlo.
Imagínate a David continuamente escuchando la voz de sus soldados diciéndole: "¡David! ¡Levántate y levantemos campamento porque Saúl ya viene con todo su ejército y está cerca!"
Por eso David llega a este punto de considerar su propio vivir. Al presentarse delante del Señor, hace una autoevaluación de sí mismo. Le dice al Señor que si él ha sido injusto y si ha vivido una vida pecaminosa, que él aceptaría todas esas pruebas y persecuciones que estaba viviendo. Pero que si ese no es el caso, entonces que por favor lo socorriera y le diera la victoria.
David sabía muy bien sobre la ley de las consecuencias. Él sabía que si había hecho daño a su amigo o a sus aliados sin razón, o si había castigado al enemigo sin razón, entonces él es merecedor de todas sus penas.
Reflexionemos sobre nuestra vida, si posiblemente estamos sufriendo porque estamos pasando una prueba o porque estamos sufriendo las consecuencias de nuestras malas acciones. Es muy posible que nosotros hayamos sido injustos con alguien sin darnos cuenta o siendo conscientes de ello, actuando con altivez y arrogancia, pero las pruebas nos sirven para reflexionar si le hicimos daño a alguien con nuestras palabras, calumniando, hablando mal de alguien, guardando rencor, dejando que la envidia perturbe nuestra alma, o no ayudamos a alguien en necesidad a pesar de que podríamos.
Sea cuál sea la circunstancia, todos en algún momento de nuestra vida podremos fallar en algún área y a alguna persona con alguna actitud o acción de injusticia. Es importante recapacitar a tiempo, enmendar la situación, pedir perdón, retribuir el daño pagando la pérdida que causamos a alguien, y cambiar nuestra forma de actuar, pensar y vivir.

Esta oración es similar a la de Job cuando le reclamaba al Señor que le explicara el porqué estaba pasando por ese sufrimiento cuando él no había codiciado ni siquiera a la mujer de su prójimo, no había robado a nadie, y en general, no había cometido injusticia contra su prójimo. Más adelante Dios le mostró el propósito detrás de esta prueba y le reveló su soberanía. Job lo entendió y después de eso, oró por sus amigos que lo criticaron y recibió todo lo que había perdido pero multiplicado. Dios le restituyó toda su familia, sus pertenencias y limpió su nombre ante la sociedad.
Espero que esta oración nos haga reflexionar y que continuamente consideremos cómo es nuestro caminar actualmente.

Consideremos:
Cuando oro al Señor, ¿recapacito cómo estoy viviendo últimamente?
Cuando cometo alguna falta, ¿recapacito y admito que merezco ese sufrimiento?
Cuando el sufrimiento me hace reflexionar sobre mis malos pasos, ¿recapacito, me arrepiento y cambio mi forma de vivir?

September 22: In busy times, consider.

Psalms 7:1-17:
O Lord my God, in You I put my trust; save me from all those who persecute me; and deliver me, lest they tear me like a lion, rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
O Lord my God, if I have done this: If there is iniquity in my hands, if I have repaid evil to him who was at peace with me, or have plundered my enemy without cause, let the enemy pursue me and overtake me; yes, let him trample my life to the earth, and lay my honor in the dust. Selah
Arise, O Lord, in Your anger; lift Yourself up because of the rage of my enemies; rise up for me to the judgment You have commanded! So the congregation of the peoples shall surround You; for their sakes, therefore, return on high. The Lord shall judge the peoples; judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to my integrity within me.
Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just; for the righteous God tests the hearts and minds. My defense is of God, who saves the upright in heart.
God is a just judge, and God is angry with the wicked every day. If he does not turn back, He will sharpen His sword; He bends His bow and makes it ready. He also prepares for Himself instruments of death; He makes His arrows into fiery shafts.
Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity; yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood. He made a pit and dug it out, and has fallen into the ditch which he made. His trouble shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown.
I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.


This psalm of David is very similar to the first psalms we have studied. There is the cry of a person going through trials, persecutions and dangers. Perhaps this way of crying out to the Lord comes from a man who lived in persecution for many years, hiding in caves and looking in the desert and constantly in fear because the king of his people, who was also his father-in-law, persecuted him to kill him.
Imagine David continually hearing the voice of his soldiers telling him: "David! Get up and let's make camp because Saul is coming with all his army and he's close!"
So David comes to this point of considering his own living. By presenting himself before the Lord, he does a self-assessment of himself. He tells the Lord that if he has been unjust and if he has lived a sinful life, that he would accept all those trials and persecutions that he was living. But if that is not the case, then he tells the Lord to please help him and give him victory.
David knew very well about the law of consequences. He knew that if he had hurt his friend or his allies for no reason, or if he had punished the enemy for no reason, then he is worthy of all his penalties.
Let's reflect on our life, if we are possibly suffering because we are passing a test or because we are suffering the consequences of our bad actions. It is very possible that we have been unfair to someone without realizing it or being aware of it, acting with haughtiness and arrogance, but the tests help us to reflect if we hurt someone with our words, slandering, speaking badly of someone, holding a grudge, letting envy disturb our soul, or not helping someone in need even though we could.
Whatever the circumstance, all of us at some point in our life may fail in some area and to some person with some attitude or action of injustice. It is important to reconsider in time, make amends, ask for forgiveness, repay the damage by paying for the loss we caused to someone, and change the way we act, think and live.

This prayer is similar to Job's when he asked the Lord to explain why he was going through this suffering when he had not even lusted after his neighbor's wife, had not stolen from anyone, and in general, had not committed injustice against his neighbor. Later God showed him the purpose behind this test and revealed His sovereignty. Job understood it and after that, he prayed for his friends who criticized him and received all that he had lost but multiplied. God restored his entire family, his belongings, and cleared his name before society.
I hope that this prayer makes us reflect and that we continually consider what our walk is like today.

Let's consider:
When I pray to the Lord, do I think about how I am living lately?
When I do something wrong, do I reconsider and admit that I deserve that suffering?
When suffering makes me reflect on my bad steps, do I reconsider, repent and change my way of living?
