Story Transcript:

En: On a sunny day in Copenhagen, Lars went for a walk. He was a little nervous. In the evening, he was going to have dinner at Sofie's. Nikolaj, his good friend, would also be there. It was going to be a fancy and formal dinner. Lars had never been to such a dinner before.

Da: Lars tog hjem for at gøre sig klar. Han fandt en mørk jakkesæt frem. Han fandt også et par flotte sko. Men han var i tvivl. Hvilke sokker skulle han tage på? Han kiggede i sin sokkeskuffe. Der var mange forskellige sokker. Nogle var farverige eller med sjove mønstre. Andre var helt sorte.
En: Lars went home to get ready. He pulled out a dark suit. He also found a pair of nice shoes. But he was unsure. Which socks should he wear? He looked in his sock drawer. There were many different socks. Some were colorful or had funny patterns. Others were completely black.

En: He chose a pair of socks with spaceships. The socks were new. Lars didn't think about whether they were appropriate. He just wanted warm feet.

En: Dressed up, Lars didn't think about the socks anymore. He was more nervous about the dinner. He took a taxi to Sofie's. She lived in a beautiful house in Frederiksberg. All the guests were supposed to be there at 7 pm.

En: Nikolaj was already there. He laughed when he saw Lars. "What's up with your socks, Lars?" he asked, pointing at Lars' spaceship socks. Lars blushed. He had forgotten all about the socks.

She walked over to Lars. "I think your socks are cool," she said with a smile. Lars felt relieved. He had been afraid of making a mistake.

En: The dinner was a success. Lars had fun, even though he had worn the "wrong" socks. And Sofie invited him again.

Da: Den nat lærte Lars noget vigtigt. Det er okay at være anderledes. Selv med rumskibssokker til en formel middag.
En: That night, Lars learned something important. It's okay to be different. Even with spaceship socks at a formal dinner.
