As of October 24, 2024, Lake Texoma is offering some exciting fishing opportunities despite the changing weather conditions.

### Weather and Water Conditions
The water temperature is around 75 degrees, and the lake is slightly stained with a level 1.87 feet below pool. The weather is expected to be sunny with a high of 87 degrees and a clear night with a low of 68 degrees.

### Sunrise and Sunset
Sunrise is at about 7:30 AM, and sunset will be around 6:30 PM, providing ample daylight for a full day of fishing.

### Fish Activity
Striped bass fishing is excellent right now. These fish are actively biting on live shad in 20-45 feet of water, particularly in ditches and along river ledges. As the weather cools, expect the topwater bite to improve in the shallows, especially during early morning and late evening. Swim baits and topwaters are working well in the backs of coves and creeks.

Crappie are a bit tougher to catch but can be found around brush and structure in 12-18 feet of water. Using electronics to target active fish at the bottom of brush piles with jigs is effective.

Catfishing remains good, with blue catfish biting on cut shad in 30-50 feet of water. Channels and eaters are found on main lake ledges and humps, while bigger fish are located west of the islands and north of the railroad bridge in deeper flats.

### Best Lures and Bait
For striped bass, live shad is the go-to bait, especially when fishing on humps and ledges. Swim baits and topwaters are also effective in the shallows during cooler parts of the day. For crappie, jigs and minnows around brush and structure are the best choices. Catfish are biting well on cut shad, and prepared baits like chicken liver can also work.

### Hot Spots
One of the hot spots for striped bass is near Striper Alley to Indian Harbor, where they are schooling in many areas of the lake. For crappie, focus on brush piles and underwater structures near docks and creek ledges. Catfish can be found on main lake ledges and humps, particularly in the upper ends of the lake.

Overall, Lake Texoma is in a great state for fishing, with various species active and responding well to the right lures and baits. Make sure to check for any zebra mussel alerts and follow local regulations to ensure the health of the lake's ecosystem.
