Featuring special guest James Holland, renowned Second World War historian and co-presenter of the popular podcast, We Have Ways of Making You Talk, Tom Holland (The Rest is History) and Jon Surtees (Surrey CCC) look into the history of The Oval during the First and Second World Wars.

Tom and Jon start off by discussing some of 'The 48' Surrey players and members who died fighting in the Great War - and discussing how the conflict affected life at home.

They go onto tell the extraordinary story of The Oval in the Second World War, the vital role that Churchill's government had in mind for the ground and some of the incredible things that happened in and around the ground's doorstep during the conflict.

Future episodes will be released every Wednesday. Next week will see a special bonus episode – coming on Wednesday July 10th – where Tom takes a week off but James Holland is back to join Jon and tell the stories of two of the great Surrey men who performed vital roles in crucial moments of the Second World War.
