The funny and talented Renèe Taylor along with her director and son Gabe Bologna will join me in The Locher Room to discuss their new film Tango Shalom. Renèe co-stars, as does her late husband and Gabe's father, Joe Bologna, in Tango Shalom - a delightful movie that offers a message of inclusion and tolerance that is resonating with diverse audiences - all religions, ages and within the LGBTQ community.

Renèe is known to television audiences around the world for playing Fran Fine's mother Sylvia on the still popular television sitcom The Nanny for all six seasons. Gabe is an actor / director who studied as the protégée of director John Frankenheimer. Tango Shalom also stars Lainie Kazan, Karina Smirnoff (Dancing with the Star), The Laniado Brothers Jose and Claudio, and Judi Beecher. Joe Bologna co-wrote the film and it was his last performance before he passed away. He and Taylor had a famously successful Hollywood, interfaith marriage themselves.

TANGO SHALOM

Tango Shalom is an interfaith comedy dance movie about “Rabbi Moshe Yehuda” (Jos Laniado), who enters a televised Tango competition to save his Hebrew school from bankruptcy. There is only one problem: because of his religious tenets, he can't touch a woman! He seeks the help of a few advisors, a Catholic priest, a Muslim Imam, and an Indian Mystic, to hash out a plan to help Moshe enter the competition without sacrificing his sacred beliefs.
