COMING THROUGH IN THE CLUTCH … To no surprise, is the NBA

Yale and the NBA partnered up to land the COVID testing breakthrough that the NFL and quite frankly everyone else in the US has been hoping for.
In a significant turn of events in COVID-19 testing, the US Food and Drug administration granted an emergency authorization for the public to begin employing a saliva-based test expected to significantly increase the availability, turnaround time and affordability of combating the coronavirus epidemic in the US. The test coined SalivaDirect is being called a “game changer.” Testing can be done for as little as $4 although retail price is expected to be higher than that. The turnaround is 48-hours.

NCAAF-
Everyone is opting out of Falls Sports. Pact-12 was on the verge of having a season with the Pac-12 student athletes sending a letter to the heads of the PAC 12 organization. They were ready to go suit up and play… under the right circumstances. We talked a bit about it last week, but now… the Pac 12 leadership has said… No.. They will forgo ALL Fall/Winter Sports for the 2020 seasons. They will revisit what will happen with the Spring Sports at the beginning of the year, but have basically shown that they do not care about the Student Athletes and what they feel they deserve. BIG10, Pac12 are opting out. Mid American Conference, UConn Sitting out as well.
The ONLY Leagues that are still “scheduled to play” are AAC, ACC (including Notre Dame), Big 12, Conference USA, SEC, Sun Belt Conference.

Of all the 32 conferences… do you think that they will all eventually cave and call of the games… or do they go on and hope for the best? … Was reading a report that this might be rescinded with the new game changing method for testing.
HS Football was already played in Utah, while everyone holds their breath and hopes that there are no major repercussions.


MLB -
Zach Plesac AND Mike Clevinger have been reinstated and sent to the indians alternate facility after it was found out they had broken quarantine. Plesac originally was told to keep driving straight home after it was found he had left the teams hotel. Later it was found that Clevinger had been with him. Since then, both were reinstated but have been sent down and are required to quarantine for 3 days before testing commences.

Stephen Strassburg gets tossed out of a game for arguing Balls and Strikes…. From the Bleachers… not the field.. Not the bench… but from the stands. Strasbourg was sitting in the stands enjoying the game when he started heckling the umpire for a few close calls that he didnt agree with. The umpire only stood for 1 comment from the peanut gallery.. The 2nd time around.. He promptly threw out Strassburg. Dave Martinez the Nats Manager was confused at first, he didnt know who had gotten tossed.. The Ump had to specify and “shoo” strasbourg out of the stands.

NY Mets were down 16-3 against the Washington Nationals… So.. they called on their star.. SS Luis Guillermo to come in and pitch at the top of the 9th inning. Throwing the HEAT with the old Gravity Sinker at 68 MPH. He did pitch a 1-2-3 9th to end the game. Smooth as butter.

We have come to the part of the show when we are talking MLB and we get the chance… nay the PRIVILEGE to talk about the Freeway Series happening today and tomorrow. Today… Kershaw Vs Sandoval on the bump. Kersh looked a little shaky in his last start.. So if the Halos come out swinging hard in the first few innings it may give them a chance to stay in the game. HOW DID THAT WORK OUT FOR THE ANGELS? Does Sandoval who is coming off a decent outing going 6 solid innings only giving up 4 hits and 2 runs. It IS his first game against the Dodgers but it will be a tough squad to pitch against. Mookie coming off of a 3 HR game the other day, on the contrary Trout is coming out hitting BOMBS since the birth of his son. Tied for 2nd at the beginning of the day with 8 HR’s Trout is on a tear only trailing Judge by 1 and leading Betts by 1 as well. JUDGE IS NOW ON THE DL, El nino just took the lead and it’s a two horse race. Pitching will definitely be the difference maker in this series.

I know I am wishing Bundy was pitching, WOULD LOVE TO SLAP HIM AROUND, but we cant always get what we want. Bundy’s numbers come against the A’s and SEA, one of which was a loss. Orioles fans have been on this hype train before - so be careful with all the wishing cause it don’t end well.

Seahawks Rookie is let go by the organization after attempting to sneak a woman into the team hotel. Rookie CB Kemah Siverand was a free agent rookie. He was let go by the Seahawks when he was caught trying to sneak a woman into the hotel, she wore Seahawks gear in order to try and disguise her.

Not 1 but TWO huge Tight End signings over the last week. George Kittle and the San Francisco Santa Clarita Forty Niners sign a 5 year $75 Mil contract. Making it the richest contract for a Tight end in NFL History. Travis Kelse signs an extension for 4 years for what will be about $57.25 Mil. This will be Kelse’s 3rd contract with the KC Chiefs. Looks like he isn't going anywhere for the rest of his career.
