The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been a cornerstone of Nigeria's national integration since its inception. Established in 1973 in the aftermath of the Nigerian Civil War, the scheme was intended to foster unity and promote national development by deploying young graduates to serve in various parts of the country.
However, in recent years, the programme has faced increasing scrutiny. Critics argue that the NYSC's original objectives have been undermined by significant challenges..
