Why are there different global accents? Northerner versus Southerner. British versus South Africa. Research shows it's all based on the native language. Accents are music to me. The rhythm and pace. Pitch, volume and tone. I do wonder though if we aren't living inside a vocal evolution by way of the masking being worn for Covid 19 protection. People are speaking softer and they're using their eyes more than ever.
