Former police officer Rebecca Sage threw her career away in a single night after using her department-issued baton to smash her ex-boyfriend's front door during a heated dispute over personal belongings and a pet. The chaotic encounter led to her immediate arrest, and investigations revealed that an officer friend and a dispatcher had illicitly helped her by running license plate information. These actions resulted in civil lawsuits from the victims and the termination of the assisting colleagues involved in the conspiracy. In court, Sage pleaded guilty to all criminal charges and expressed remorse for her actions. Ultimately, the judge sentenced her to three years of probation, ordered her to pay restitution, and mandated ongoing mental health treatment instead of jail time.
