Segregation in America has had the impact of keeping people isolated and ignorant of other languages, cultures and religions. Today's children, connected to the entire world through the world wide web of the Internet need to be prepared to live in a diverse society, and yet our schools are still lagging behind in preparing them with knowledge of the ways of other people. Today's guest, Lavinia Weisser, an American now living and working in China as a teacher, gives an insight on how Chinese children are being prepared for the global community, in contrast to the children in America.
