If you were asked to divine the profession of someone who describes themselves as an “Indulgent yogi, a mango maniac, a beach bum, and an off-beat poet,” what might you come up with? Of all the professions those descriptions bring to mind, phrases like “Somatic Psychologist” and “Biodynamic Cranial Sacral Therapist and Contemplative Neuroscience Teacher,” are unlikely to be among them.

Michael Shea is one of the preeminent educators and authors in the fields of somatic psychology, myofascial release, and craniosacral therapy. He has a Master’s degree in Buddhist Psychology, and a Doctorate in Somatic Psychology, has studied Tibetan medicine, and spent 10 years apprenticing with a Shaman on the Navajo reservation as part of his doctoral internship.
