Matthew and Pennie will be discussing the shaman’s way on the show this week. We have both had the amazing experience of working with 2 outstanding Peruvian Shaman;- Shaman Javier Arevalo Shahuano and Shaman Jessica Ramirez Seopa BOTH are experts in planet medicine and run Spiritual Dimensions a centre in the amazon forest in Peru.
Javier Arevalo Shahuano, was born in the community of Nuevo Progreso, Rio Napo, in the district Loreto, Peru. The last of a family with four generations of shamans, the Shahuano, in his teens he realised that shamanism was his future. At 20, after his father’s death, he started his apprenticeship. He spent two years in the virgin rain forest, without any contact with the outside world, taking as a teacher his Grandfather, Antonio Shahuano. From him, he learnt the healing properties of plants. Jessica Ramirez Seopa after a long and hard training, reached the stage of complete shaman and has brought the feminine energy to the ceremonies and beautifully accompanies Javier in the singing of the ‘icaros’
According to shaman there is a natural way of handling relationship with all parts of our spiritual nature, which has been forgotten over time. It used to be that people partook in ritual, were tended to by Shaman’s who understood the natural process of attachments, soul loss and guidance from beyond. They knew that spirit attachment is a natural occurrence that resolves itself as a person heals naturally. That speaking to our loved ones in spirit is a necessary and important healing act. When one is depressed, or experiences loss or illness, a hole in the aura opens up. Spirits with similar issues, sometimes misguided, will think they are helping, or just don’t know what else to do and attach to you. Sometimes it is more intentional, but that is rare. As you naturally heal, the hole closes up and the spirit goes away. Sometimes though, when the wound is too deep or multi layered, the spirit clings on and prevents healing. Especially when soul loss has occurred. This is when the Shaman comes in and does their work, closing up the aura and letting you heal and move on. So Pennie and Matthew will be discussing their work and sharing stories about working with these amazing shamanic healers.
