We can concede the variations of the wailing-woman in folklore appear geographical, with different regions having their own slightly different versions of the wailing woman. The origins of this folklore is uncertain, by lack of dating. Therefore, this contagious folklore is a case of correlation or the universality of mankind rather than causation (African origin).
