In Matthew 5, Verses 15-16, we're told:

"Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before people, so they can see the good things you do and praise your Father who is in heaven."

Key Points:

- God wants us to ambassadors for righteousness while we are here on earth. Your behavior serves as an example for others.

- And make no mistake, if you proclaim yourself as a Christian to friends and family members, know those who are nonbelievers or weak in their faith are watching you. If you proclaim yourself to be a Christian and fail to behave accordingly, you give comfort to those who are quick to judge, and in that judging whatever faith they may have had will be weakened.

- When you live an exemplary life in accordance with God's Word, you are a light in this world, a beacon for others who look up to you as a model of Christian living.

- This doesn't mean you must be perfect. But I suggest to you it does mean affirming your intention every morning to live each moment of that day in a way that is pleasing to God. In so doing, you become an ambassador for God and a model for everyone you know and have contact with.

- When you act as an ambassador for God, you let your light shine before people, so they can see the good things you do and praise your Father who is in heaven."
