Joining us this week is Microsoft Senior Product Marketing Manager, Matt Calder. Mike had a stint working in the entertainment industry, using his skills in technology to focus on consumer engagement for reality TV show ‘Big Brother’, but later returned to the tech industry working at Microsoft. Matt explains the concept of containers and Kubernetes, and all that that entails, giving you a clear understanding of what it is, how it works, and how easily you can learn.
Later, we talk with Next Gen Tech guest, Melissa Corrales, who is a Freshman in the honors college at ASU. In high school, Melissa’s school was a part of the one to one program where every student was given their own personal laptop. After the realization that not everyone had access to a computer at home and seeing the positive impact this program had on her classmates and their approach to school work, Melissa is now passionate about technology becoming more accessible to the general public. She explains how she became passionate about technology, how she thinks society can get more girls involved in tech, and how she sees technology affecting her future.
