show moreThere is not one exercise that is far superior to all others and depending on your own personal gym goals, you might want to do certain exercise variation over others. Four main things one should consider when choosing an exercise are your individual gym goals strength vs hypertrophy, your own human anatomy, targeted muscle connection when performing that specific exercise and the risk to reward ratio when performing certain movements. This can be risk to injury or even risk in terms of fatigue accumulation or overall systemic fatigue from performing a certain movement.
