The Beatitudes (Part 4) | Joy Teh
30 JUN 2024 · The Beatitudes
1 And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. 2 Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4Â Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
5Â Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.
6Â Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
7Â Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
8Â Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
9Â Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11Â Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12Â Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Matthew 5:1-12
Saved to Serve | Elder Ang Peng Hoe
23 JUN 2024 · 1 Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. 2 You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world.[https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians+2%3A1-10&version=NLT#fen-NLT-29192a] He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. 3 All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.4 But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, 5 that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) 6 For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. 7 So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Ephesians 2:1-10
God’s Will - Purpose & Plan | Elder Ang Peng Hoe
9 JUN 2024 · 11 Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God,[https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians+1%3A11-23&version=NLT#fen-NLT-29178a] for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.12 God’s purpose was that we Jews who were the first to trust in Christ would bring praise and glory to God. 13 And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. 14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him. 15 Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God’s people everywhere, 16 I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, 17 asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. 18 I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. 19 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. 21 Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. 22 God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. 23 And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.
Ephesians 1:11-23 (NLT)
The Time to Respond | Elder Ang Peng Hoe
19 MAY 2024 · A Time for Everything1 For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.
2Â A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
3Â A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
4Â A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
5Â A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
6Â A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
7Â A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
8Â A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.
9 What do people really get for all their hard work? 10 I have seen the burden God has placed on us all. 11 Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. 12 So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. 13 And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God.14 And I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it. God’s purpose is that people should fear him.15 What is happening now has happened before, and what will happen in the future has happened before, because God makes the same things happen over and over again.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-15 (NLT)
