4 JUN 2025 · During the previous week in Aurora, Colorado, several notable incidents were reported by law enforcement.
In the early morning hours of June 1, around 12:30 a.m., a fatal shooting occurred near Aurora Fire Rescue Station 2 on East Hoffman Boulevard. Officers responded and found two victims, a 15-year-old girl and a 20-year-old woman. Both individuals were transported to local hospitals, where the 15-year-old succumbed to her injuries. The 20-year-old sustained non-life-threatening wounds. Several hours later, a third victim, also a 15-year-old girl, was identified with a graze wound but declined medical attention. The case is under investigation by the Major Crime Homicide Unit. No arrests have been made, and detectives are seeking witnesses who may have cellphone video of the incident. On May 12, at about 5:15 p.m., police responded to a suspicious person report at an offsite airport parking lot in the 19900 block of East 56th Avenue. The suspect, identified as Rashad Terrelle Johnson, reportedly became aggressive with staff and refused to leave the property. When an officer attempted to engage Johnson, a physical struggle ensued. The officer used less lethal devices and issued multiple commands, but Johnson did not comply. During the altercation, an officer-involved shooting took place. Johnson was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died. The officer was also hospitalized for treatment. The incident remains under review.
There were no reports this week of police seeking public assistance with suspect descriptions.
